Tiger Woods' new resort to feature in Bond film
The Bahamas estate recently bought by golfers Tiger Woods and Ernie Els is to play a leading role in the new James Bond film, Casino Royale.Secluded Albany House in New Providence, became one of the first locations to be used for several scenes of the new 007 film, starring Daniel Craig as the smooth spy.
As well as being one of the most famous properties in the Bahamas, the estate was recently bought by the Tavistock Group, which includes Woods and South African Els.
There are now plans to develop an exclusive residential community there, but before an ambitious modernisation takes place, the exotic charm of Albany House has been captured by Bond director Martin Campbell.
The estate isn't new to celebrity invasions - Bono, Celine Dion and John Travolta are believed to be past guests, but resort privacy rules forbid staff naming names.

D-day on death row
Four inmates on death row at Her Majesty's Prison will get the chance to have their sentences reviewed today before Senior Justice of the Supreme Court Anita Allen.Senior Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General Gawain Ward last night confirmed that the death sentences of prison inmates Forrester Bowe, Robert Green, Ronald Simmons and Keith Jones will be opened and given a second look this morning.
Forrester Bowe was placed on death row for the shooting death of 20-year-old Dion Roach at an apartment complex in Freeport, Grand Bahama on October 23, 1992. Bowe was later sentenced to death on February 25, 1998. He has been in prison for the past eight years.
He appealed the conviction before the Court of Appeal where it was dismissed in April 1998.

Bahamas Talks to Casino Operator
BAHAMAS – As reported by the Bahama Journal: "The government is in "advanced" talks with the prospective operator for the casino at the Our Lucaya Resort whose present operator, Isle of Capri, is preparing to pull out, according to Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe."…The present casino operator advised the government two weeks ago that it will be leaving Grand Bahama within a year.
"Minister Wilchcombe, who did not reveal the name of the new potential operator, said he was confident that details of the takeover will soon be worked out.
"…The government is banking on the multibillion-dollar Ginn development to help boost the island's economy. The project is being developed over 20 years, but according to Prime Minister Perry Christie, significant benefits are already flowing as a result of the development in West Grand Bahama…"
