capital of the bahamasBahama Islands News, Articles and InformationYeah, like I'm not a math major. :PI just got Tales of Phantasia for GBA this morning in the post, after spending only 9 on Ebay! Aah, Ebay, the love of my life and the bane to my wallet. Anyway, I popped it into my DS, and start playing for an hour before getting to the first save point. I'm an obssesive gamer, meaning I have to collect all the items and talk to everyone I possibly can before moving onto to the next area. Well, I don't have to but I like to. So then, I stand of the 'Memory Glyph' and press Save. Then chose the slot and pressed ok. What happens? The "Saving. please do not......" screen comes up and the game freezes. I left it for an hour and it still had not budged. Tried it 6 times on my DS, my old GBA and my bro's GBSP. Didn't work. When I asked the guy who I bought it off via an email, he said he was about to go on a 2 week holiday in the Bahamas.Travel Agent Charged With Defrauding VacationersMINEOLA---A Hempstead man has been arrested and charged with masterminding and executing a plan that allegedly defrauded hundreds of travelers out of tens of thousands of dollars.Jerry Andrew Cummings, 40, of Hempstead, has been charged with two counts of third degree grand larceny, scheme to defraud in the first degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree. Ingraham questions gov't on proposed school for GBHeated words were exchanged yesterday on the floor of the House of Assembly, when former Prime Minister and Opposition leader Hubert A. Ingraham indirectly accused the Government of mishandling funds that were allotted for increasing classroom numbers in Grand Bahama and the Family Islands.Ingraham further questioned the Minister of Education Alfred Sears regarding funds donated to the Government by the Grand Bahama Port Authority for the construction of a Junior High School in Grand Bahama. Sears, who rose earlier on a point of order, became the target for the demanding interrogation. "What happened to the money that was allocated before 2002 by the FNM and in the more recent budget for the construction of a Junior High School in Grand Bahama and in the Family Islands?" asked Ingraham.
TerrorismTHE arrest last week of seven members of a fringe religious group in Miami has revealed what could be a new phase in al-Qaedas grand plan for global terrorism. The FBI charged the seven, who belong to a group that calls itself the Seas of David, with conspiring to work under al-Qaedas direction and control to bomb the 110-story Sears Tower in Chicago and the FBIs Miami headquarters and to launch attacks in at least three other US cities. The objective, US authorities said, was to sow terror that would be greater than 9/11. To accomplish that, al-Qaeda will rely not on suicide squads trained and indoctrinated in its camps in Afghanistan, as it did in 9/11, but mainly on homegrown recruits. Of the seven arrested in Miami, five were US citizens, one a permanent resident and one an illegal immigrant from Haiti.Tourism needs 'new ideas'Outgoing president of the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), St Lucian hotelier Berthia Parle, has urged tourism officials to keep upgrading performance levels in order for the Caribbean to truly attain world class status.Speaking at the opening of the four-day Caribbean Hotel Industry Conference (CHIC) at Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Miami, Parle said this was necessary to meet consumers' demand. She told more than 900 delegates: "Consumers today demand an authentic Caribbean experience delivered by warm, caring, hospitable employees with the highest performance levels. "As we all seek to promote the sustainability of our destinations, our products and services must also be of a sustainable nature. We must open our minds to new marketing ideas and communicating initiatives, to stepping out of our comfort zone and living up to our principles," said Ms Parle.
