MANSFIELD, OHIO AK Steel, union OK new contract Workers at AK Steel Holding Corp.'s Mansfield plant have approved a new four-year contract affecting about 300 hourly production and maintenance employees, the company said. The old contract with the United Steelworkers Local 169 was not due to expire until February. The new one was negotiated in less than a month, while company bargainers took a break from talks at its largest mill in Middletown, where about 2,500 workers were locked out nearly nine months ago. Workers at the Mansfield plant, once the site of a 39-month lockout, OK'd the contract in a vote Monday. It will be in effect from Jan. 1 to March 31, 2011, the company said.
