Rememberance SundayToday we depart from the usual emphasis on a Sunday to remember those who gave their lives in the service of this country. Remembrance Day gives us that opportunity. We join with the family members of our nation's war dead and those who presently serve in remembering their unselfish service to their nation. We can add to that number the many others who died giving themselves to others. Our war dead are remembered in an impressive service in the Garden of Remembrance, following an elaborate service usually in Christ Church Cathedral. The war heroes and heroines of The Bahamas have for years been symbolized in the British Legion, which has an ever-dwindling number of members. Since the last World War many of its members have died, being advanced in years. In their hay-day we remember them in marches through Grants Town, moving briskly to the sound of military music and proudly displaying their medals.
